About FMS
Faircloth Metallurgical Services, LLC (FMS) is a full service laboratory located in Mobile, Alabama.
We provide materials testing and engineering for industries such as pulp & paper, oil & gas, subsea construction, chemical processing, aerospace, and steel production. We offer a wide range of testing services including but not limited to metallurgical testing, failure analysis, chemical analysis, non-destructive testing, third-party inspection services, and engineering services. We also have a new state of the art welding laboratory to fulfill all of your welding procedure and welder qualification needs. FMS is an engineering firm with a professional registration in Alabama and other South Eastern states.
Materials Testing
FMS is capable of collecting accurate data through various types of material testing including Chemical, Mechanical, Hardness, Corrosion, and Microscopic
Failure Analysis
FMS has extensive failure analysis capabilities covering metals, composites, coatings, and weldments. We serve a wide range of industries and also provide support for litigation and insurance claims.
Non-Destructive Testing
FMS has a team of highly qualified engineers and inspectors to perform many types of testing that conform to national standards and client’s specific needs. An in-house NDT laboratory and a team of field technicians to help assist you with your non-destructive testing needs.
Inspection Services
FMS assists clients with various types of inspection services including welding (CWI), Coatings (NACE), Vessels and Piping (API), general oversight, and third party surveillance/auditing.
Weld Test Facility
A newly constructed Weld Lab facility with 15 welding booths that are equipped to test on all processes. FMS offers Procedure Qualification, Welding Procedure Specification, and Welder Performance Qualification.
